SJB also handled the interiors of Corsa Mortlake.&nbsp;SJB’s Design Director Adam Haddow said the&nbsp;project feels as though it has grown from the ground up.

Leading marina industry consultant, Brett Bolton of Coriolis Marine, said it is well known that Sydney Harbour currently has a significant shortage of marina berths in comparison to boating demand, especially for larger-sized boats. &nbsp;This will only get tighter as the industry continues to grow and there are limited opportunities in the Harbour to build new or expand existing marinas.&nbsp;

‘It’s extraordinarily rare to buy an off the plan waterfront apartment with the opportunity to acquire a strata-titled marina berth," Bolton says.

The marina has been designed to the latest Australian Standard and incorporates extra wide walkway, three phase power, water, CCTV, and a coffee kiosk.

"Addressing the foreshore and gracefully descending towards the water, the building engages seamlessly with its environment," Haddow said.

At the heart of the design is sustainability, Haddow says, which&nbsp;benefits both the environment and the occupant.

"Every apartment draws in the water views, is cross ventilated, and is orientated to the north-easterly aspect.

There are a mix of colour schemes available. The light scheme features&nbsp;off-white joinery, grey and white marble, and mid-tone timber flooring. The dark scheme has grey marble, deep timber flooring, and off-white joinery.

Haddow says the&nbsp;vision for the interior design is cohesive with the building’s character and context.

How SJB designed Made Property's Corsa Mortlake apartment development

Premium boutique developer builder Made Property has achieved the highest score to date by the KPMG Origins Building Trustworthy Indicator (BTI).

They scored a BTI 4* on its recently completed Drummoyne apartment development The Isles. It's the first 4+ score received by a development in NSW.

The Building Trustworthy Indicator, created by KPMG Origins with the NSW Office of the Building Commissioner, uses an industry developed calculation by combining data provided by the developer on materials, processes, and participants of a fully constructed building to provide a Trustworthy Indicator score after the issue of an occupation certificate.

BTI differs from other ratings like iCIRT as BTI is focusing on the trustworthiness of the building itself, not the counterparty assessment of builders. BTI is a one-off indicator issued for the building after completion,&nbsp;KPMG Origins’ Lead Partner Laszlo Peter says.

“The Building Trustworthy Indicator shows that a building has been assessed against the best available construction industry evidence and standards. Investors, residents, or future tenants can have a higher level of trust in the building as demonstrated via our industry-developed indicator."

Peter says the Building Trustworthy Indicator is a metric that gives NSW buildings and the construction industry a greater trust and transparency.

Made Property was one of the first developer / builders in NSW to obtain an iCIRT in 2022 for their company. The Isles Drummoyne project is the first to gain a BTI 4* “Leading” indicator.”

Bianca Drummoyne will comprise just 12 three and four-bedroom apartments at 2C–2D Wolseley Street, an elevated position on the northern edge of Drummoyne's peninsula overlooking the water.

<h2>Time &amp; Place seek Manly apartment development</h2>

Melbourne-based developer Time &amp; Place are continuing their push into Sydney, lodging plans for a boutique apartment development in Manly's General Conservation area, adjacent to Manly Oval.&nbsp;

Time &amp; Place, who are working through plans for the redevelopment of the well-known Chimes building in Potts Point, are seeking to develop a four-level building with 25 apartments,&nbsp;above a ground floor commercial level and two underground basement carpark levels.

<h2>Podia reveals North Sydney apartment project</h2>

Prominent Sydney developer Podia has submitted plans for its next apartment project.

In a joint venture with CASA, Podia is seeking to developer 71 dwellings, a mix of apartments and townhouses, at 45 McLaren Street, North Sydney.

<h2>Bridgestone file plans for Chatswood apartment development</h2>

Sydney developer Bridgestone has filed plans for a new $90 million apartment development in&nbsp;Chatswood.

They're proposing 95 apartments across two towers, linked by a green spine and retail and commercial podium, on a 2,687 sqm site at 44-52 Anderson Street.

The focus has been on a larger apartment configuration. There will be just six one-bed and 16 two-bed apartments across the 25-level buildings. Nearly three quarters of the building will be three-bedroom, duplex-style apartments, which occupy levels eight through to 21. From level 22 and up will be large sub penthouses and penthouses, the latter with private rooftop gardens.

<h2>New Hyde Park tower for Central Element gets sign off</h2>

Sydney developer Central Element has been given the green light by the&nbsp;City of Sydney&nbsp;for their Hyde Park development at 271 Elizabeth Street.&nbsp;

The mixed-use project, being developed in collaboration with equity partner MaxCap and the current landowner, will be designed by the renowned architects Murcutt&nbsp;Candalepas.

<h2>Full-floor apartments set for Potts Point</h2>

Luxury developer Terra Ferma and joint venture partner Knox Group have teamed up on an apartment project in Potts Point.

They're seeking to convert a 20-studio apartment building on Oak Lane, the Woolloomooloo-side of Potts Point, into a five-level building with just five apartments.

The team spent nearly a year amalgamating 20 owners across two rundown buildings.

The boutique nature of the offering, something which Potts Point and the nearby Elizabeth Bay isn't known for, particularly in the new and off the plan apartment space, means apartments are expected to sell for record prices.

<h2>Gurner to push on with Barana Group's Baranagaroo luxury apartment towers</h2>

Tim Gurner's GURNERTM has secured a trophy site in Sydney's Barangaroo area, with a view to develop two towers of apartments.

The $800 million project at 189 Kent Street is the first seed site to have capital deployed within the developer’s $2 billion Build-to-Sell development fund, which is backed by a global institutional investor.

The 1,195sqm site, which adjoins the Barangaroo precinct, currently houses a commercial office tower that was built in the 1960s, with current tenancies in place that GURNERTM will hold until completion of leases. The site has recently been granted planning approval for a residential development after a lengthy approval process by the site’s vendor Barana Group, who has held the asset since 2002.

<h2>Roche Group seek mixed-use Lilyfield development</h2>

The Roche Group is trying again for its prime Lilyfield site on the fringe of Rozelle opposite Callan Park.

The Double Bay-based developer has submitted plans for a mixed-use development on their large 6,824 sqm site at 469-483 Balmain Road. They're seeking to build 89 apartments, 6,000 sqm of flexible employment space, and 1,200 sqm reserved for creative purposes.

Sydney's July development application wrap: What's coming to Sydney's off the plan apartment development market

The iCIRT-rated luxury builder developer Made Property has been given the green light to proceed with <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/corsa-mortlake-140-tennyson-road-mortlake">Corsa Mortlake</a>, their absolute waterfront residential community on Sydney Harbour's Majors Bay.

Buying a home is likely the biggest purchase one will make in their lifetime.

And while the off the plan property market is quickly tarnished in the media, the truth is less than one percent of developments across Australia will face extensive defects, and the chances of those coming from a reputable developer are slim to none.

But now prospective buyers will be able to buy with full confidence and transparency of who they are buying from. Data analytics house Equifax, backed by the NSW Government, have created an independent construction industry ratings tool, or iCIRT,&nbsp;a star rating outcome on a firm&rsquo;s capability and willingness to deliver reliable and trustworthy built assets.

Equifax do a full sweep of the developer or builder with a fine tooth comb, analyzing their&nbsp;full&nbsp;financial and development history,&nbsp;before they are given the accreditation.

Urban Property Group CEO Patrick Elias says it&#39;s great to have a list that allows consumers a way of verifying developers past just the marketing.

&quot;Unfortunately, the industry has been plagued with bad press from a few bad players which has concerned buyers. It is important for the development industry as a whole to give confidence back to consumers so that off the plan sales can start to gain momentum. More importantly it gives consumers a choice when looking to purchase.&quot;

Elias acted swiftly to secure the status as soon as it was announced.

&quot;By becoming an early adopter, we believe it really demonstrates the confidence we have in our business and brand.&quot;

One of Sydney&#39;s most prominent developers, Deicorp, were another among the first to apply and secure their rating.

Deicorp Chief Financial Officer Bruce Rayner said the list is an incredibly valuable tool for purchasers.

&quot;It&#39;s a simple, ready reckoner of which builders and developers have the confidence to submit their business for assessment,&quot; Rayner says.

Deicorp have developed and delivered over 8,000 apartments since 1999, and Rayner says they understand&nbsp;how important purchaser confidence is in the buying decision.

&quot;Anything that helps buyers have confidence in their choice is very positive,&quot; Rayner added.

Rayner says that already&nbsp;some buyers are looking for rated developers when buying off the plan.

&quot;Over time, it will commonplace for buyers to seek out developers who have achieved a positive rating.&quot;

Another who moved quickly was the North Sydney-based Made Property Group, who have been creating high-end, multi-residential developments across Sydney for over two decades.&nbsp;One of their most recent was Crenelle, the luxury Neutral Bay collection of just 11 house-sized apartments.

Made also applied for the iCIRT rating&nbsp;soon as the accreditation was available.

&quot;We always had every intention of seeking to gain a rating as we see it as the most important new initiative in our industry in a long time,&quot; Made&#39;s Managing Director Davin Finn said.

&quot;Whilst the assessment was rigorous, time-consuming and thorough, if you have all the information, systems and processes ingrained in your business already and the performance history in place, it is a reasonably simple process. If you don&rsquo;t however, there is no hiding.&quot;

Finn said consumers deserve to have a high level of confidence and trust in their decision to purchase an off the plan property.

&quot;Purchasing a home is most likely the single biggest purchase anyone makes in their lifetime and to make the decision to purchase off the plan from a glossy brochure or display suite can seem a real leap of faith and can often feel like a gamble. It shouldn&rsquo;t ever be that way.&nbsp;It should be a time of excitement not trepidation or simply hoping for some luck.

&quot;The companies that achieve an iCIRT rating are the ones that have been proven to deliver on the marketing material promised at time of purchase.&quot;

Finn thinks it&#39;s crucial the industry promotes the existence of the rating system and advocates for consumers to deal with developers and builders from the list.&nbsp;

&quot;Whilst most purchasers will do their own due diligence, nothing can replace a rigorous and independent rating system which requires the industry to fully participate and engage and be marked on past performance, current and future capabilities, and open their financial books and businesses processes to a third party for assessment.

&quot;The independent rating system now provides a very useful tool for consumers to enable them to make informed decisions about who and what they choose to purchase and enable them to have confidence in that decision&quot;

TOGA are currently working through the process. Their&nbsp;General Manager of Sales Anthony Falas says there will come a point in the future where people will only purchase off developers on the rating system, and everyone else will carry a risk having not been independently verified.

Dasco has been given a rating&nbsp;for its building arm, and is working through the process to get their developer status added. Platino Properties, who primarily develop in the lower north shore, also made the list.

Dasco&nbsp;General Manager, Martin Vaughan said the status&nbsp;is an important part of the group&#39;s future planning to be well-recognised not only by its industry peers, but also by the broader community.

&quot;DASCO has been an active participant in the industry since 1993. To be able to participate in the assessment process and be accredited by an independent body is important in maintaining our reputation for quality and security. To have been awarded a 4.5 Star rating is a significant achievement,&quot; he said.&nbsp;

Vaughan&nbsp;outlined the assessment process as extremely rigorous, with&nbsp;an in-depth examination of all elements of Dasco&#39;s operation.

&quot;The Company was judged for its building quality and practices as well as its financial stability to provide an overall picture of the Company&rsquo;s recent and long-term performance,&quot; he added.&nbsp;

&quot;Dasco&#39;s Executive Directors&nbsp;saw this as an intrinsic step in demonstrating DASCO&rsquo;s credibility but also supporting the changes currently underway in the industry.&quot;

Vaughan said there were obvious benefits for the company to be highly rated by independent review, forming a significant part of the evaluation process for a potential buyer.&nbsp;

&quot;As more and more buyers become familiar with the rating system and understand it&rsquo;s reliability, it could become a significant list of reference to buyers seeking to by off-the-plan.&quot;

&quot;As the media and the NSW Building Commissioner continue to uncover more and more projects with structural issues, buyers will continue to feel apprehensive about buying off-the-plan unless a builder/developer has been deemed &lsquo;trustworthy&rsquo; by accredited parties,&quot; Vaughan said.&nbsp;
